A TWO PRONGED REVOLUTION IN THE OFFING THAT MAY SOON BRING ABOUT REGIME CHANGE IN 2007!
Forget about the violent 1982 revolution that went nowhere except to cause mayhem for a few hours.
Forget about the looting and raping spree that accompanied the soldiers' failed revolt of 1982.
Forget about the Rainbow revolution that threw KANU out of power but failed to manage power.
Forget about Kiraitu Murungi's promise to shake every corner of this republic with his Banana revolution that never was.
Forget about the Orange revolution that took home the referendum prize in late 2005 but failed to figure out what to do with it after victory. - This two pronged revolution will be like no other revolution ever seen on this land. Don't even think that President Kibaki short-changed the Liberal Democratic Party over their memorandum of understanding. Never mind that the Ford Kenya number two slot ended up going to renegade LDP old man now under siege for a different reason. Compared to the anger boiling in the hearts of women and the youth of this country, those betrayals among political parties would sound like village love affairs that the jilted lovers soon get over with.
The women of Kenya feel betrayed, oppressed and in perpetual bondage. The women of Kenya feel depressed, abused, exploited and violated to the bone. The anger among them has reached boiling point. It will soon spill over and burn some one very badly.
And they seem to have a case and reason to be angry at the social, political, economic and legal system designed and controlled by men in this country.
They get really depressed to learn that in neighbouring countries like Somaliland, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania, their counterparts are in charge of such vital public sector dockets like, Foreign and Finance ministries not to mention positions of Vice President as in the case of Uganda until recently. They cannot understand how a war torn country like Liberia can produce the first African woman president with all that internal strife. They cannot understand how in less than fifteen years of black rule, South Africa, the most powerful African nation in the continent now prides itself of a woman vice president!
They are at a loss to find that just after ten years of the Rwanda genocide, the women of Rwanda now enjoy thirty percent of all public and political positions in the country when they are yet get to the 10% mark! Never mind that they command 52% of the population in this land called Kenya.
